I love dentistry. I knew by age 16 that this was what I wanted to pursue. I am a people person and knew that I would want to work in a field where I could continually interact with people. I think the human body is amazing and couldnt get enough of human anatomy and physiology in school. I have always loved building and creating things with my hands. All of this came together in a medical field and so I decided to follow my father’s footsteps and go into dentistry.
Education and Continuing Education
My formal education began at Brigham Young University where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. I continued on to Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry, graduating with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, and completed my general practice residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.
Continuing education has always been important to me as the ability to more accurately diagnose and use new technologies and techniques to better treat oral disease continues to improve. I have completed extensive training through the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, learning a great deal about neuromuscular dentistry and occlusion problems related to TMJ/TMD, in addition to cosmetic and full mouth rehabilitation areas of dentistry. These areas of study allow me to not only treat the singular problem with simple treatments such as fillings, crowns, root canals, or tooth extractions, but also the larger problems that often lead to many of the smaller ones.

Outside the Office
I have been unbelievably happily married for almost 23 years and blessed with seven children, ranging in age from six to 21. They are my hobby these days, so when I’m not working it’s about them.
We spend a great amount of time as a family, including service in our church and community. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and strive to always be honest and do the best work I know how. This includes my commitment to serving others, both locally and around the world. I am passionate about scouting and served as a Scout Master for almost eight years. I have also been on a number of medical/dental service missions in various parts of the world, including Mexico, Ecuador, and Africa.
Dentistry has changed a lot since my father started practicing. I think people now understand the importance of good oral health and we are learning so much more about the relationship between oral health and overall general well-being. I believe my role is to help people understand those connections and how to maintain a healthy state of overall wellness.
The most important part of dentistry to me is ensuring that I have a relationship-based practice. This means I will take time with patients and learn more about them rather than merely learning about their health goals. It also means showing compassion and understanding the role that I have in treating all patients. I want all my patients to feel comfortable in my office, from the littlest child to the oldest adult, to the anxious patient who walks through my door.
Education and Continuing Education
Growing up in my father’s dental practice, I was able to see the amazing differences he made in his patients lives. Following his footsteps into the dental profession has given me such satisfaction and has rewarded me in ways I never expected. Before attending dental school, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology from Brigham Young University in 1996. I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003 from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry with dental and oral surgery honors.
I believe wholeheartedly in the importance of continuing education, and I feel that it is a great way to continue to offer my patients the most advanced dental treatment options. I have completed many hours of training in all aspects of dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and the Pankey Institute.

My wife, Aimee, and I currently reside in Henderson with our three children, Alora, Elise, and Travis, as well as a house full of pets including two dogs, two turtles, a fish, and a tortoise. When I’m not reading a good book, I love taking advantage of all the outdoor activities in the area, from hiking and camping to boating and snowboarding.
I believe that I have been so very blessed in my life. I have a wonderful family and a great job. I look for opportunities to give back to the community and provide a helping hand anywhere I can. There is so much we can offer each other in making this world a better place. As an office, Gubler Dental has worked with the Reaching Africa Foundation, serving the people of Ghana who have no access to dental care. It has been a life-changing experience for us all to be a part of such great work.
