When you have a dental problem, our dentists use periodontal pathology, or oral DNA testing, to analyze the type and amount of bacteria in your mouth. This information can tell us if you have, or are at risk for periodontal disease, tooth decay, or other problems. When we know what type of bacteria is in your mouth, we can also design a treatment plan specific to your needs to halt or prevent further damage to your oral health.

Oral DNA testing usually begins with an oral rinse. Our dentists provide this rinse, which you then swish throughout your mouth. The sample is then sent to a lab to be tested. Once the results come back, our dentists will work with you to determine your exact needs and which type of treatment will be most beneficial to your oral health.
